A paramedic who responded to the 7/7 bombing went in against orders, despite the fact that there could have been another bomb. By the time she was there, there was nothing she could have done for the girl. Instead of simply declaring the girl dead (which would have been procedure), she tried further to re-initiate a pulse using what tools where available to her until she knew there wasn't a single chance of saving her. At an inquest hearing today, she repeatedly and emphatically apologized to the family of the girl she tried to save for not being able to do more.
