"That didn't just come from a man on the street, that came from a public official."
The judge was referring to a comment made by supervisors Chairman Eric Gentry during a school board public hearing, that Giles County "won't let an anonymous coward tell us how to run our business."

VIDEO: A McDonald's employee who beat two women with a metal rod has all charges dropped, on account of the women being violent ignorant assholes.
"We were begging them to get security," McIntosh told DNAInfo by phone. "The McDonald's itself is a problematic store. It has a high, concentrated number of people every day. In the Village, it's crazy." He said the NYPD refused to staff the store with officers because it was "wasn't in their financial interest."
The incident at the West 3rd Street restaurant began when the cashier questioned a $50 bill one of the women gave him, the video showed, and the women, identified as Denise Darbeau and Rachael Edwards, became angry and started shouting obscenities. The video showed one of them reaching over the counter to slap McIntosh's face, sending him running toward the kitchen area. He then came back with the metal object.
McIntosh told DNAInfo, "From my perspective, I was very scared. It was two against one. When you're faced with that kind of situation…your self-preservation kicks in. You're going to defend yourself. [Darbeau] put me in a situation where I had no choice."
The two women suffered lacerations, and one suffered a fractured skull and a broken arm, according to a DA's office complaint. The women face charges of menacing, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Police in Iowa have charged a college student with breaking into a McDonald's restaurant after hours, warming up the grill and then making himself a hamburger, local media reported.
Whitley Allen Teslow, 21, turned himself to Cedar Falls police after local television showed surveillance video of a clean-cut burglar breaking into the fast-food outlet and grilling himself some beef patties.
The intruder also fired up the deep fryer to make French fries, before fleeing with a soft drink. No cash was taken from the till.

Other officers arrived and arrested both children. They were handcuffed behind their backs, placed in the back of a police car, transported to the Morgan Park District station and detained for eight hours, the suit alleged.

Another restaurant employee saw Ledgard's actions and took the vials from him and secured them. Police identified the drug as Dextran, also known as Iron-100, which is injected into suckling pigs' muscles to correct iron deficiency after birth. Information about the potential consequences of human ingestion was not readily available Saturday night.

Police officer Brent Rouillard is charged with two counts of sexual assault - he will still draw a police salary.
Toronto police arrested Const. Brent Rouillard, 38, on Saturday. He is also charged with careless storage of a restricted weapon and careless storage of ammunition, police said.
Rouillard, who lives in Toronto, has been with York regional police for five years, moving in January from the uniform patrol to the special services unit.

Berlin police investigating the murder of a baby thrown from five floors up. The remains were found in a plastic bag.
It is thought the 40-year-old woman had given birth to the baby on Saturday night in the flat where she lived with her teenage daughter. There is no information about whether the arrested man was the father of the baby.
People living nearby have said the woman had tried to hide her pregnancy, although police would not comment on the rumours.
But a police spokesman said his colleagues were sure the baby had been thrown out of the flat. “There are clear signs for that,” he said.

Rapist Isabel Chavelo Gutierrez died doing what he loved to a 77 year old woman
The Refugio (reh-FYOO'-ree-yoh) County Sheriff's Office identifies the man as 53-year-old Isabel Chavelo Gutierrez. Sheriff's Sgt. Gary Wright says the incident happened June 2 after he rode two miles by bicycle from his home to that of his 77-year-old victim in the tiny coastal community of Tivoli.
He says the 5-feet-7-inches tall, 230-to-250 pound man sneaked into the woman's house and raped her at knifepoint. During the attack, he said he wasn't feeling well, rolled over and died. His body was sent to the Nueces County medical examiner in Corpus Christi for autopsy.

A 26-year-old woman attending the concert was also shot and injured.
According to El Occidental, four drunk men aggressively demanded the band play more after their set ended - and they did - for a while. After they stopped around 4 a.m. local time Monday morning, one of the men threw a grenade at the stage, and people ran out of the bar. As they did, two of the band members were shot.
The victims were identified as Jonathan Jimenez, 22, the leader of the band, and Gustavo Alejandro, 35. Others were also injured in the explosion.
The shooters fled, and investigators said there is little information to go on because no one saw the vehicle that they used to leave.
